Tip 44: Churches for referrals

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Local churches are always on the lookout for innovative ways to raise money to pay for their programs. Call the leader in the church and tell that you want to meet regarding a fundraising activity.

Propose that for every referral or sales that you get from the referrals you will send the church an agreed upon percentage. This would work to the benefit of both you and the church.

Tip 43: Hair saloons for referrals

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

I am pretty sure everyone visits a hair saloon. Several of us visit the same stylist on a regular basis. Most hairstylists engange in conversations. So we can infer that hair stylists talk to a variety of folks on a day to day basis.
Perhaps you can offer them a certain amount for the number of referrals they send your way and a certain amount for every one of your business card they pass to others. You can also entice them with a percentage of the sales they bring in option.

Tip 42: Using charities as referral sources

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Visit the charity organizations near your business. Each charity would have a list of sponsors and goals to achieve their charity goals.

Visit the executive of the charity and propose that every referral that is sent to your business you will donate a percentage of the sale back to the charity.

This benefits the charities goals as well as your business. You can also proudly display on your business that you support these charities.

This creates a win win situation to both the entities as well as the benefactors of the charity.

Tip 41: Referral partners and coupon tracking

Monday, December 4th, 2006

Create a list of businesses that provide services or products that are complimentary to yours. If you run a water, fire damage restoration company this list could include plumbers, electricians, insurance agents etc.

Create a referral program and market to these folks. This referral program should pay a fee to these companies when a customer is sent to you.

To make this referral process more effective, provide your referral partners with customized coupons or cards that will allow you to track the referral source easily and correctly.

Pay your referral source in a timely manner and enjoy the additional revenue you get out of these business relationships.
